Pandas Class
My name is Mrs Kaur and I am the teacher in Pandas Class.
I believe that 'reading is the key to learning' and 'practice makes perfect'. In Pandas, we also learn about the importance of having a 'growth mindset'. Together, we 'Believe, Achieve and Succeed!'
If you have any queries or concerns, please contact me on Seesaw or email office@hillsideprimaryschool.co.uk
Our Spring Topic - Man on the Moon
We created these amazing self-portraits before half term. We believe that we are all unique and celebrate our diversity.
In Autumn term, we learned about the Great fire of London and children loved creating these silhouettes as part of their Art and Design curriculum.

From September 2021, Pandas is our year 2 class, supported by Teaching Assistant Miss Steele. You may also see Mrs Price, Mrs Haddouche and Miss North.
The morning session starts at 8.45am until 11.30am and the afternoon session starts at 12.30pm and finishes at 3.10pm to allow staggered start and finish at the start /end of the day due to Covid19.
In a morning, the children are taught the core subjects of English and Mathematics. During these sessions, the children can work either as a whole class or in small groups. Some children may have 1:1 support.
During the afternoon session, the children undertake topic related work which covers subjects such as history, geography, science, PE, music and art. These topics change on a termly basis.
Please send your child to school in full PE kit on PE days (Tuesdays and Wednesdays) - do not wear school uniform. No jewellery should be worn and children need to follow our PE policy.
At Hillside, we love reading. We believe it is essential to our children's learning as it helps them to develop language skills and increases their knowledge of the world around them. Children will change their home reading books in the morning on Fridays. Children are expected to read at home each evening and should return their books in good condition. They will also be able to access ebooks online once they are settled.
Homework is also given out on Fridays and should be completed and returned by the following Monday on Seesaw app and MyMaths website. If it is returned late, it will not be marked. Homework includes a list of spellings to be learnt, an English or Topic activity and a Maths activity. We will be using virtual learning environment (VLE) in September and children will be trained to access these sites/programs/apps in ICT lessons. Please keep all logins and passwords safe, its best to take a picture of these and save it on your smart phone, that's what I do!
There will be no educational visits until further notice this year.
