History

Our History curriculum intent is for our children to know that history is a story of the past that can be told differently and that history is created from evidence that remains. Historians have to find ways to make sense of this incomplete picture. We want to give our children the skills to make accurate judgments, be able to test for reliability and know which questions to ask. Linked to our values we believe if they are taught history well they will be given the necessary training to be open-minded and respectful of evidence in later life and make sense of the world they live in.

We intend to create a chronological framework of knowledge and understanding into which pupils can place new information and key events.
